Celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival: A Tea Party Held for International Students of School of International Studies
With the Mid-Autumn day around the corner, on 17thSeptember, teachers and foreign students of School of International Studies came together and celebrated this traditional festival which means family reunion and happiness in Chinese culture. For most of our international students who study in China, it is their first time to leave home and travelled all the way to this strange land. To help them ease inevitable homesickness and know more about Chinese traditional culture, our school organized a tea party themed on Mid-Autumn Festival, on which teachers and students drunk tea and and try different kinds of moon cakes. And the impressive tea ceremony, calligraphy and Guqin performance given by the teachers conveyed the richness of Chinese home culture to the students.
The invited international students, who come from different lands breeding diverse cultures, experienced the harmony, unity and love contained in Chinese culture. Zha De, an excellent student who has graduated from CUPL and is pursuing his master degree in International Politics now in Peking University, also came back “home” to celebrate the moon festival with us. With a love of China, he said he was glad to come back to CUPL and joined the tea party.
At the end of the gathering, a group photo was taken to mark this special day, on which happiness and warmth stayed in the heart of all people presented.
